This is excellent - and so important about the power and influence of local

Institutions. Always remember learning that social interaction fell in any village when it’s primary school closed ( always for good pragmatic reasons.) the community loss was so much greater.

I love your phrase "patchwork of interconnection". It felt like that for me too when my daughters were at school. Now that they have moved out of home and live far away, the neighbourhood interaction passes me by. On a happier note, the song "Circle of Life" featured in the choir's performance at the final assembly and I was moved to tears as well. It's heartwarming to acknowledge the role that a school community has played in a child's life before the big launch into the world.
